>> STARS LIKE FLEAS
- The Ken Burns Effect. Out, September 18th
After quietly releasing a number of highly-praised,
mostly hand-traded cult releases over several years, Stars Like
Fleas re-emerged in 2006 with new clothing, sonic plastic surgery,
and a desire to shed its underground trappings and engage audiences
in the flesh. Almost instantly creating a stir and an overnight
name for themselves in the overcrowded and sentiment-suspicious
Brooklyn music scene, the Fleas began selling out exponentially
larger shows in secret spaces as well as NYC's famed Bowery Ballroom,
North Six and other marquis clubs, performing with admirers among
the likes of Deerhoof, Grizzly Bear, Excepter, Gang Gang Dance,
Comets On Fire, Man Man, Beirut, Kyp Malone of TV On The Radio,
and Akron/Family (among others). >>

Taxi Taxi! is the two twins Miriam

French tour in june - here
are the dates
[April 02, 2007]
>>THEE, STRANDED
HORSE - "Churning Strides"
Thee, Stranded Horse is the work of Yann Encre.
Some of you may have already encountered Yann's work as Encre in
his native France, where Encre's two albums became touchstones for
the more inquisitive of their generation.
'Churning Strides', his debut album, is a meditative
and visionary work, it features Yann accompanying himself on kora
or guitar and the luminous sound of his thought processes influenced,
perhaps, by his remote Normandy HQ and the moon on the tide.
"Churning
Strides" is released by Talitres (under exclusive licence
from Blank Tapes) in France only.
>>KIM NOVAK - "Luck
& Accident"
From France, the four members of KIM NOVAK
have played together since two years.
Haunted by diversified influences such as indie
(from Interpol to the Tindersticks, from Radiohead to the Talking
Heads), soul music and classic rock, KIM NOVAK not only sounds
energically rock but also untypically ethereal. Their music is not
driven by any one instrument and each song has it own sound and
style which produce a melodic, groovy and electric setlist....more
>>>
"Luck & Accident", their debut album, will be
released worldwide in 2007.

RALFE
BAND - "Swords". Talitres
new release. With two bonus tracks 'Run Down The Lane"
& "Moths" - Out in France in february, in march
in the other european territories. |
Ralfe Band's enchanting melodies take you on a
journey through ever changing moods. Tales of curious lands, vivid
characters and strange predicaments are interspersed with atmospheric
instrumentals that range from the ghostly to the feverish.
From Women Of Japan's lifting waltz time melody,
through the shuffling beats of Broken Teeth Song to the eerie free
association of Bruno Mindhorn, Ralfe Band utilise guitar, piano,
accordion, viola, mandolin, percussion and anything else to hand.
Songs are peppered with coughs, cowbells and barking dogs, giving
a wonderfully experimental feel to their music.
>>KIM NOVAK
Debut album out in april - Tour
dates
[October 03th, 2006]
>>THE WALKMEN -
new album "A Hundred Miles Off"
The Walkmen new album "A Hundred Miles
Off" is released via Talitres in mainland Europe.
The guitars start at a lilt, and the gritty croon
of vocalist Hamilton Leithauser is unmistakable: you know you're
listening to the Walkmen. And by the time "Louisiana" ends, in an
increasingly insistent sonic carnival of trumpet, piano and an almost-Caribbean
beat, you also know the band has raised the stakes. A HUNDRED MILES
OFF, the Walkmen's third record, and the eagerly awaited follow-up
to 2004's Bows and Arrows, is also the band's best work to date.

"Those pictures were taken in Africa from 1996 to 2000, by

They were made with a pinhole, a simple box where a tiny hole has
been pierced, primitive version of the black box. This first book
about their work intends to illustrate what we think of being their
success, beyond even photography itself." OSCURA www.vuesimprenables.com/v3/

We are proud to announce that

debut album titled "Progress Reform" - Out
late may / mid-june in mainland Europe (except GAS) and Asia
|
Since their first gig in February 2004,have crept
in as a formidable part of the fertile Leeds scene, creating individual
musical soundscapes that have stood them apart from their contemporaries.
After three self-released demos, iLiKETRAiNS released their first
single on the Leeds-based Dance_To_The_Radio label. It was the dark,
brooding murder ballad 'BEFORETHECURTAiNSCLOSE' and sold out
in the first week earning them strong praises in the national and
regional press.
"while the singer delivers his baritone murder
ballads, the instruments cascade, explode and create a genuinely
uncomfortable atmosphere with their epic post-rockisms"
NME - "iLiKETRAiNS
are exponents of a slow-burning blend of mournful guitar nostalgia
and contemporary sonic splendour. Add grimy locomotive related visuals
and authentic British Rail uniforms circa 1974 and prepare to be
spellbound" Fierce Panda - "iLiKETRAiNS
stand firmly and gloriously out of place in a country full of haircuts.
More Heart, sould and dynamics than the whole of the indie top 40
put together." Drowned In Sound

CLOGS new album "Lantern" out in Europe
january 30th.
Clogs' fourth album, LANTERN is their finest
and most varied effort to date. They augment their unique sonic
palette (acoustic guitar, strings, percussion, bassoon) with melodica,
piano, ukulele, and mandola. Guitarist Bryce Dessner goes electric.
Per usual, Newsome adds haunting vocals to one song, the title track:
"Light me a lantern/in your lighthouse, my keeper/me a lantern"
Consolidating and expanding on the sounds of their first three records,
it also sees Clogs writing the best melodies of their career and
incorporating more dub and rock influences. (The National's Aaron
Dessner contributes bass to "5/4.")

IDAHO
- "The Lone Gunman" - Out, october 04th.
Started in 1992 in Los Angeles as a duo, through the mid nineties
as a full band and then finally as a solo artist, the band IDAHO
has become synonymous with Jeff Martin. He has been the sole
thread through all of the incarnations. Known mostly for four-string
guitars, low tempos, spectral feedback and production nuance,
IDAHO has never bowed to the pressures of being commercial.
For his trouble, IDAHO has remained the eternal underground
band. By luck the band has attracted a devoted cult-like following.
Idaho is like the secret club of indie music, and for this record
you'll need the code words ….>>> |
