>> RALFE BAND -
"Attic Thieves" - out october 13th, 2008
Continuing from 'Swords', their brilliant
dada road-movie debut on Skint Records, 'Attic Thieves'
confirms Ralfe Band a special place as one of England's most
original, melodic and richly poetic bands.
Inside its old mirrored room you will find
Oly Ralfe's latest almanac of twelve richly varied
songs and instrumentals. The recordings here range from the
beautifully personal to the eerily comic, with song lyrics
peppered with mysterious alter-egos, all reflecting an inventive
band journeying across a dreaming landscape uniquely Ralfe

>> THE WALKMEN -
You & Me, out soon on Talitres for France, Switzerland,
Benelux, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Germany, Scandinavia, Poland,
Greece and Austria
The music that inspired the Walkmen
to compose You
and Me follows in a tradition of song writing
that goes back to early rock 'n' roll: the intimacy and energy
of Elvis Presley's and Buddy Holly's early recordings, and
the massive voice and orchestration of Roy Orbison. And it
carries on through people like Bob Marley and Randy Newman
and on to bands like The Pogues and The Modern Lovers - the
sort of songs that are very much a product of their time and
place while firmly rooted in tradition. The vocals were performed
live right in the room with the full band, and sometimes a
horn section too

>> EMILY
JANE WHITE - "Dark Undercoat" ; new release ! new project
!
Armed with little more than an
acoustic guitar and her fragile alto, San Francisco folk singer/songwriter
Emily Jane White offers complex tales of melancholy and isolation.
While comparisons to contemporaries like Cat Power and Hope
Sandoval are frequent, Emily's music owes a clear debt to classic
female jazz and blues singers such as Billie Holiday.>>>

>> THE SLEEPING
YEARS - "We're Becoming Islands One By One" / Release
date: March 17th, 2008

‘We’re becoming islands one by one’
is the debut album by Dale Grundle’s new project The
Sleeping Years.
Recorded in London, it follows on from the
successful trilogy of EPs released in 2007. Born in Coleraine,
Northern Ireland, Dale started his first band Catchers
while at school. Their debut album ‘Mute’ was recorded
with Mike Hedges in France and released on Setanta Records.
Produced by Dale, ‘We’re becoming islands…’
features songs influenced by the language and culture of his
home in Ireland. Dale sings of people trying to stay connected
in a world seemingly designed to keep them apart. The album
even features a Dictaphone recording of his father speaking
by the lockkeeper’s cottage where he grew up. >>>>

>> IDAHO - "The
Forbidden ep ~ Alas: Special Edition" - out, feb. 11th
2008

It was during rare moments of cool sunlight
that Jeff Martin (IDAHO) was able to create his last
release 'The Lone Gunman" (Talitres,
2005) amidst a trial by fire initiation into the corporate world
of TV scoring. But now, with a writers' strike shutting down
the industry, he is free to pursue his true love. Half way into
the completion of the next release, he sees it fit to re-release
the now out of print The Forbidden ep /Alas '97/'98 on one
CD. These records represented an unexpected turn from Idaho's
beautifully bombastic rocker "3 sheets to the wind" '96, paired
down from a full size band to a duo. These 2 long out of print
cd's represent a study in economy and subtlety that still sound
fresh and new today. The last song "the sun is all there is"
gives the listener a hint of what to follow a few months later
at the millennium change with " Hearts of Palm" which
was voted one of the top five releases of the year by French
paper "Libération" along with Radiohead and Johnny Cash.
The commercial edition comes in a deluxe
digisleeve packaging and with an extra disc that include some
cues Jeff wrote for the score for the film "How to make the
cruelest month" in 1997 between recording 'The Forbidden e.p.'
and "Alas".
